Sadie didn’t have the strength to snap her mouth shut. “What?”

“He’s been flitting around here all evening, waiting for you to come back.” Josh thumbed the top of her corset, careful not to touch her skin. “He arrived after you’d dropped off the food earlier and I can’t remember him being that disappointed in a long time.”

  “I…” Sadie frowned. “Paul isn’t…”

“Now, I know you’re a smart woman. I can’t say he’s ever been particularly subtle when it comes to expressing his interest in a woman before. But you are different. I’m finding this dance fascinating to watch.”

“I’ve known Paul for years. He’s never been interested in me. Not in any way other than being his friend.” Sadie shifted her attention to the floor area when a loud crack followed by a moan rose above the rest of the noise. A man had a beautiful blonde across his knee and was spanking her. “Granted, he’s been acting differently the past few months when we get together, but that doesn’t mean…He isn’t interested.”

Josh smiled at someone past her shoulder. “I think I’ll check on the staff to see if they have everything set up in the banquet room. Be sure to have Paul escort you over when you’re ready.”

The hand on the small of her back was the only indication of Paul’s arrival. Heat seeped into the faux leather, warming the area around where he touched her. Without realizing, Sadie leaned back, increasing the contact between them before glancing up at him.

“Hey,” she said softly. “I just got back.”

Paul’s brown eyes had gone nearly black in the low light of the club. “I see Josh has been taking care of you.”

“I wanted to make sure she was comfortable while you were held up,” Josh said.

“Thanks. I knew you’d take care of her while I was gone.” Paul stepped closer to her back, increasing the contact with her body.

“No more calls tonight, I hope?” Josh leaned in, closing her personal space down to a tiny bubble. Sadie could feel her heart beating in her ears and throat, the speed of the blood pounding through her made her head spin.

“I’ve turned the damn thing off,” Paul replied.

“As you should. Leave it in my office. You deserve a night of relaxation as much as anyone.”

They were close, one in front and one behind. The air thinned. Unable to get enough oxygen to stop her head from spinning, Sadie swayed between the men, bringing her dangerously close to the edge of her control.

“I guess we better let you see to your guests,” Paul said. “Sadie and I will check the catering.”

Without warning, Josh leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her cheek. “I hope you enjoy yourself this evening,” he whispered against her skin.

Sadie swallowed hard and nodded. “I will.”

“Will we see you later?” Paul asked, his voice sounding rough.

“I think that will depend on Sadie.” Josh placed a kiss on her other cheek and squeezed Paul’s shoulder before disappearing down the stairs to the main area of the club.

Sadie was about to come in her panties.

“You look amazing.” Paul hadn’t moved to stand in front of her, giving Sadie an unobstructed view of Josh as he began to mingle with the guests. “I knew that color would be perfect with your hair.”

“Thank you.” It was a lame response, but Sadie’s brain along with her witty retorts had momentarily checked out.

“The best thing about it is how it’s a subtle tease. I know with the lightest of tugs I could pop your breasts out, exposing your nipples to the entire room. I bet you wouldn’t even stop me.” Paul shifted his weight and the bulge of his erection dug into her hip. “You’re like that. A subtle tease. For ten years I’ve watched you and you never saw me as anything beyond a friend.”

  “Paul, I never—”

“Don’t you dare finish that sentence.” His lips were pressed hard against her ear and his hot breath rolled across her neck. “You have no idea the things you do to me. The fantasies I played out in my head over the years. You and Rachel together sucking my cock. You on all fours and me fucking you from behind. You coming into my office and locking the door. Having sex on my desk.”

Sadie grabbed hold of the railing in front of her, squeezing the cold metal, and prayed she wasn’t about to fly out of her skin. Paul slid his hand up the center of her back until he was able to loop a finger under the edge of the corset. The light tug was half promise, half threat.

“You never told me what your fantasies are, Sade. Which is too bad because tonight you are going to live out one of them. I don’t care what it is, or who it’s with. It doesn’t even have to be with me. I’ll watch if I have to, if that’s the only scrap you’ll give me. But I need to know what gets you wet. I want to know and I want to make it happen.”

Paul bit down on her earlobe and flicked the tender flesh with his tongue. “In a minute I’m going to take a step back and give you a second to compose yourself. Once you have, I’ll show you where the food is. The whole time you’re playing professional caterer, you’re going to think about what you want. Because the second you’re free, I’m going to take you and I won’t let you go until you’ve screamed out at least three mind-blowing orgasms.”

  Shit.

  Holy shit.

She wanted him, if nothing else. Paul finally hers to play with. But the chance to have him and a little bit more was a temptation Sadie didn’t think she could resist.

True to his word, Paul moved away from her, finally giving Sadie the opportunity to breathe normally. What surprised her wasn’t Paul or his unprecedented reaction to her. It wasn’t that as more and more people entered the club, Sadie began to wish she was more than a casual observer to their flirting and groping.

The thing that shocked Sadie the most was how strongly she’d reacted to being sandwiched between Paul and Josh.

“You’ll do anything I want?” Sadie kept her eyes locked onto Josh, not surprised when his gaze met hers.

Josh smirked and nodded in her direction before turning his attention back to a woman leading a man by a long black leash.

“I think you’d be a bit shocked at the things I’ve done in this place, Sadie.”

She laughed. “Honestly, I don’t think I would be. The longer I’m here the more I see how easy it would be to let go and…indulge myself.”

Straightening, she pulled her shoulders back, not caring how much the motion thrust her breasts out. She turned to Paul for the first time that night.

Gone was his normal business attire. Sadie had never seen him in the leather pants or the moss green shirt that hung loose around his waist. The boots came up to his knees, their thick soles making him even taller than his normal six feet. He hadn’t bothered doing up all the buttons, leaving a healthy portion of his neck exposed. A hint of his chest hair poked out, tempting Sadie to reach out and run her fingers through it.

“Like what you see?” His question lacked some of his normal cockiness.

“Yes.” Sadie waited until she was sure she had his complete attention. “I do.” I always have.

Paul’s eyes slid closed for a moment as he pressed down on the prominent bulge in his pants. “Christ.”

In a blink he had his hand around her arm, tugging her along behind him. “The food’s this way.”

“Paul, slow down. I’m not used to walking in these things.”

Rather than do as she asked, Paul stopped long enough to scoop her into his arms and carry her to the banquet hall. Sadie could feel his beating heart where her arm was pressed against his chest. Her nipples hardened as the silk of the corset rubbed against her. A spike of lust radiated from her pussy, and her thighs rubbed against her clit as Paul shifted her in his arms.

No one paid them any attention as Paul threaded his way through the various staff milling about, to place Sadie back on her feet by a beautifully decorated round table.

“I hope you don’t object to where we put Boobs. I came here first to make sure everyth
ing was perfect before I went to find you.”

She turned to see the object of all her hard work prominently displayed in the center of a ring of black and red roses. The blue of the corset she wore was a near match to the color of the one on the cake. And while she wouldn’t have been mistaken for the inspiration for the design, she had to wonder if Paul had somehow anticipated the color she would have used. It would be the sort of thing he’d do.

“I saw the camera you brought and took some pictures too. I assumed that’s what you wanted.”

“It’s perfect.” She turned and kissed the exposed part of his chest. “Thank you.”

“Do you want me to stay?”

“Actually, I think I want to do this alone.” For the first time since the evening began, Sadie relaxed. “Go and enjoy yourself. Come find me when things wind down.”

Paul licked his lips. He took a step in, bracing her arms with his hands. He leaned in and kissed her cheek above the spot where Josh had earlier. “Make sure to save me a piece.”

  “I will. And Paul?”

He cocked an eyebrow in question.

Sadie ignored her churning stomach and the way a surge of desire shot straight to her pussy. “When you come back, make sure you bring Josh.”

  Chapter Five

Music from the main area below pounded out a steady beat, making the floor shake and sending the gentle vibrations to every erogenous zone Sadie had. With a sense of sexual anticipation high in the air, she took joy in playing the part of caterer-turned-hostess, chatting with many of the guests and getting used to the attention she was receiving. Paige had been right about Paul needing to claim her. She received several propositions, many from married couples hoping to add a third. The occasional single guy would try to swoop in, but either Paul or Josh would stop them before they could make it to her.

Paul was never far away. She would catch sight of him periodically, watching her even as he chatted with others. And other than stopping the men from sniffing around her, he circled the room. Paul and Josh—watching her constantly.

Sadie was sure she’d had a near permanent blush the entire evening from the heated glances each man would throw her way. It wasn’t long before the members of the club got the message—Sadie was spoken for.

It was odd and absolutely the most wonderful feeling in the world. As the night moved on, Sadie’s attention was drawn away from the food to focus on the people. How a man would grab a woman by her hips, grinding his groin against her ass as he bit down on her shoulder. The way a woman would kiss another, teasing the other’s lips with her fingers and tongue.

Sadie would catch herself peeking, imagining herself in the place of some of the women. She couldn’t openly stare and instead snuck glances in the direction of the couples. Two men were kissing, pressed up against the wall. Her breath caught in her throat and she couldn’t tear her eyes away. They were younger than Paul and Josh and not as big, but she couldn’t deny how hot she found watching them.

She turned away from the men to concentrate on getting another tray of hors d’oeuvres in place, only to catch Josh’s gaze. He dipped his head in the direction of the men, smirked and held up a wineglass in a silent toast.

  Oh. Fuck.

Small groups had broken away from the larger and were starting to drift toward the exit. It would only be a matter of time before they started disappearing off into a secluded section of the club.

A loud clapping jerked her out of her reverie to focus on Josh. He stood in the middle of the room, his long hair having fallen forward to frame his face.

“Everyone, can I have your attention? Before too many of you vanish into the woodwork to find your pleasure for the evening, I want to take a moment to express my thanks. Each of you has made Mavericks a home in one sense or another for the past ten years.”

  The applause overpowered the music.

“I want to say a special thank you to Sadie Long and the wonderful staff at Pulled Long Catering for everything they’ve done for tonight’s event.”

Sadie gave a little wave and grinned. She turned to reach for the cutting knife, anticipating the first slice into Boobs. Paul was there, knife already in hand, holding it out for her to take. The strain of the smile on her cheeks had her lips twitching, but she refused to drop the pretense of her easy-going attitude.

“I’ll ask Sadie to make the first cut into this stunning cake she made especially for our celebration.” Another round of applause as Josh held up his glass in toast once more. “The club in its entirety is now free for your use. The rules of use for the specialty rooms are still in effect. But other than that, enjoy the night, my friends.”

Sadie moved on instinct. She helped lay Boobs down as a culinary sacrifice, held the knife up as she posed for several pictures, then made the cut. She put the first piece of cake on a plate and handed it to Josh.

“I’m sure it will be as much of a delight as you are.”

Sadie shivered as Josh moved away and Paul placed a hand to the small of her back.

“Make yours to go,” he muttered.

  “But I need to help—”

  “To go, Sadie.”

Paul dipped his head in Josh’s direction. When she turned she was surprised to see that he’d moved to the door and was staring expectantly at them.

Abandoning Boobs to the mercy of strangers would have been wrong if the fate of her baked friend hadn’t long been sealed. All she had left to do was take a piece of cake herself and move on. Paul collected two before shepherding her toward Josh.

They were almost there when a short skinny blonde stepped in Sadie’s path. “You have a talented one on your hands, Paul. The food was outstanding.”

  “I sure do, Annie.”

The older woman chuckled as she placed a hand on Paul’s arm. “You’re a talent yourself, young man.”

Sadie stiffened, surprised by her unexpected annoyance at the other woman’s boldness. Paul might have been a club member for years, but tonight he was hers. Whether he picked up on her tenseness or this was an old game, Paul laughed and shrugged the other woman off.

“You’re a shark, Annie. I would never survive you.”

Annie pouted. “You’re breaking my heart. Still—” she shifted her gaze back to Sadie, “—I can appreciate why.”

Paul tightened his grip on Sadie’s waist. “And I plan on continuing to show my appreciation right now. Excuse us.”

By the time they’d reached the door, Josh was nowhere in sight.

“Where are we going?” Sadie tried to relax her hold on her cake plate, with little luck.

“Someplace private.” Paul didn’t offer anything else and Sadie was too chicken to push him further.

The long hallway led them past a long series of windows. Sadie stopped moving when she realized that on the other side were a collection of small rooms—several already with occupants. One couple was already stripped naked, the man tied to a bench while the woman landed a smack on his ass with a paddle.

“Some people like to be on display.” Paul’s voice was rough and his chest hard as he pressed against her. He reached around and picked up the cake from her plate. “They get turned on knowing someone might be on the other side, watching them. Seeing their reaction. Maybe even wanting to join them.”

Sadie wasn’t sure why, but she moaned. Paul took advantage and ran some of the icing along the seam of her mouth. It was sweet as she lapped it from his fingers and her lips.

“Other people get off on watching. It turns them on, seeing a live porno. Knowing that they could be there, inserting themselves into the fantasy of another person.”

The heat from his mouth on her shoulder was enough to have Sadie grind her ass against Paul’s cock. He continued to feed her cake, bit by bit. Her body was electrified and every touch against her skin sent a jolt to her clit. The taste of sugar and the smell of Paul was overloading her senses and relaxing her apprehension. Everything was amplified—touch, taste and smell—but Sadie wanted
more. Finally, Paul plucked the empty plate and handed it to a passing waiter, freeing them both.

“What do you like, Sadie? Do you want to watch or be watched?”

His hand slipped up her torso to cup her breast. Sadie gasped, pressed her head against his shoulder and let her eyes slide closed. “I don’t know.”

“Yes, you do. You know exactly what you want. And if you say it, I’ll give it to you.”

  “Paul…”

“No.” He moved his hand up to cup her throat, holding her in place. “No more evasion. Ten fucking years, Sadie. Tonight we are doing this.”

Reaching up, she covered Paul’s hand with her own, but not to pull it away. They stood there, entwined in front of the window. Sadie opened her eyes to see the woman drop to her knees and lick the now-red ass cheeks of her companion.

  “I’m…embarrassed,” she whispered.

“There’s nothing you can say that will surprise me.”

  “I know.”

Their reflection mingled with the couple in the glass until Sadie could only see bodies. Hers and Paul’s. She suspected he already knew what she wanted, but he would never force her into something. Paul wasn’t that type of man.

“I’m scared.” She turned her head, moving her mouth close to his neck. “I’ve never done anything like this before.” I don’t want to lose you as a friend.

“I know, sweetheart. I’m here to make sure everything is okay. You trust me, right?”

  “Yeah.”

“Then ask me. Say the words and I’ll make your dreams come true.”

Someone passed behind them, sending a wave of cool air across her heated skin. She didn’t care about being seen. All Sadie wanted right then was to find a way to let the burning consume her.

  “I want…y-you and…and Josh to f-f-fuck me.”

Paul spun her around, the cold glass now pressed against Sadie’s back. He buried his face against her neck. “Christ. Oh, fuck. It’s even better hearing you say it.” Panting against her, he tightened before relaxing his hold on her body. “I knew that was what you wanted. I could tell that first day back in his office.”
